RECON TALENT EXHIBITION

The competition is restricted to a maximum of 4 contestants (solo or group)

1. FOR GROUP PERFORMERS, they should start with a minimum of two (2) to FOUR (4) members maximum. They must also have a performance (dance, singing, choreographed fights, etc.) and not simply do a simple catwalk.

2. Each performer (solo/group) has a total of one minute and thirty seconds (1:30) of onstage performance time and a total of two (2) minutes for both pre performance setup as well as post-performance clean up.

   1. All on-stage assistants must wear an all-black outfit

3. Messy props and acts that can cause damage to property are not allowed in the contest (see General Guidelines 1-3).

4. Usage of BGM will be allowed but shall not exceed a maximum of one minute and thirty seconds (1:30) 

• Background music (BGM) should be in .MP3 format.

• Should the BGM provided by the group exceed the maximum one minute and thirty seconds (1:30) time limit, the audio will fade out signaling the contestant that the performance should be over. Should the contestant continue with their performance beyond the one minute and thirty seconds (1:30) judging penalties will be applied (see Judging Criteria below.)

• Contestants have an option to be in costume or in plain clothing, although the costume does not necessarily have to be from any specific series. The costume could even be an original costume, but bonus points could be provided for particularly creative costumes.

• They will then be given a maximum of one minute and thirty seconds (1:30) to perform for the judges with their given talent.

   5. TO ENTER, send us a ONE MINUTE audition video to admin@otakurecon.com showcasing your talent. (ex: singing an anime opening, dancing an anime dance or re-enacting a anime scene from your favorite anime!)

   6. RECON’S GOT TALENT will be an EXHIBITION EVENT ONLY for anime/cosplay fans and the anime/cosplay community on Guam to showcase and share their talent and love for all things anime and cosplay.

GENERAL GUIDELINES

1. Fanservice (ie. yaoi, yuri, etc.) is allowed but should be “General Patronage”. Violation of the General Patronage rating as well as the following guidelines maybe grounds for KAI PRODUCTIONS management to disqualify any participant on said grounds:

• Any obscenity, political messages or endorsements;

• Hate symbols and/or speech;

• Excessive blood and gore;

• Any kind of extreme kind of fanservice (ie. kissing, PDA, etc.) that is deemed inappropriate for minors; and

• Costumes that are too revealing (ie. exposes private parts) are prohibited. 

• Scantily clad and/or sexy costumes are allowed but not encourage
   

2. All kinds of costume props must be handled with utmost care and must not be harmful to his/her fellow contestants, event staff and event attendees.

• Any kind of sharp and/or bladed objects that will be used as costume props that could cut human flesh are strictly prohibited.

• Any kind of pyrotechnic equipment/s that will be used as costume props that could render damage to the venue and/or property is strictly prohibited.
   

3. The organizers, KAI PRODUCTIONS and its staff will not be held responsible for damage or injury resulting from mishandling and/or negligence of a cosplayer in his/her use of props/materials throughout the duration of the event.

• Contestants under eighteen (18) years of age as of the event date must have their parent/s and/or legal guardian/s sign the waiver/image release form 
   

4. KAI PRODUCTIONS management reserves the right to disqualify any contestant who ignores and/or violates any of the aforementioned guidelines above also including but not limited to:

• Unsportsmanlike conduct towards other competitors

• Unruly behavior towards competitors, organizers and staff
